Cause
As per VCS SAP NetWeaver Installation and Configuration Guide available at
SAPMonHome is a required attribute.
This is documented on Page 62 of above guide as
SAPMonHome: The location of the directory that contains the binary used for second level monitoring
process. Review the information about setting the SAPMonHome attribute.
See 'Setting the SAPMonHome attribute' on page 64.
With the currently implementation of the agent (version 5.0.9.0), the agent treats SAPMonHome as a required attribute irrespective of whether second level monitoring is enabled or not. So, if SAPMonHome is not set to an existing directory, the agent will fail to online the resource.
Resolution
Make sure to define SAPMonHome to an existing directory on the system while configuring the SAP service group.
Issue/Introduction
VCS SAPNW04agent for SFW-HA 5.x when tries to online, it attempts to validate all the required attributes defined for the resource. If any of these required attributes is not set, the agent fails to online.
