Description
Error Message
The %VCS_HOME%\logs\fileshare_a.txt log file shows the following errors:
VCS ERROR V-16-10051-10505 FileShare:<resource_name>:online:Failed to open folder <path> [14:3]
VCS ERROR V-16-10051-10505 FileShare:<resource_name>:clean:Failed to open folder <path> [14:3]
VCS ERROR V-16-10051-10505 FileShare:<resource_name>:offline:Failed to open folder <path> [14:3]
= Name of the Fileshare resource in the cluster
= Physical path to the folder being shared
Cause
This generally occurs because the Share is unable to access the physical path that is to be shared.
Example:
VCS ERROR V-16-10051-10505 FileShare:FS_FILESHARE:online:Failed to open folder F:\Shares\Accounting [14:3]
In this case, the error is being reported due to the F:\Shares\Accounting folder not existing. This is determined by physically attempting to access the path through Windows Explorer and finding that it does not exist.
Resolution
Determine why the drive path specified for the FileShare resource does not exist
For example:
- An error in the path provided for the FileShare resource in VCS
- The Volume (MountV) resource on which the FileShare resides is not online or mounted
Issue/Introduction
FileShare resource faults and fails to online in the cluster.
