Group: sieb01p) is online on par (VCS initiated)

Cause

The 5.0 SRDF agent does not have the functionality that the customer is requesting.

Resolution

Sent the customer email that in order to do role swap and use failover -establish, they will need to upgrade to the 5.1 SRDF agent. The customer should contact Veritas Enterprise Customer Support to obtain the correct 5.1 agent.

Applies To

The new cluster configuration is as follows.  There is one local VCS cluster with 2 hosts, birdie and par.  The other local cluster only has 1 host, bogey.
All 3 hosts are Solaris 10
VCS 5.0 MP1
VRTSvcse 4.1.01.0
SYMsymcli 7.1.1.0

Issue/Introduction

Customer did a global failover last night and the devices went into "failed over" state.  They had to do a symrdf swap and resume on node 1.  Then they did a failback and had to do the same thing on node 2. One of the customer's storage people did some research and found that the SRDF command: symrdf -g sieb01p failover -establish does the failover, swap, and resume steps automatically.  With their current configuration, they have to do the swap and resume steps manually. Customer would like to do the failover with the -establish option.  Does 5.0 allow for that?  How does one specify that in VCS?  How is the role swap configured in VCS?
