Cause

Failed disk.

Resolution

'vxsd' attempt to move sd from original device to new device failed due to original device failed. 1.) vxdiskadm, Option 4 - Replace a failed or removed disk - replaced hdisk5 with hdisk38

2.) ran vxrecover on diskgroup and volume # vxrecover -g

3.) started volume # vxvol -g -f start

4.) found filesystem needed to have fsck run.

5.) mounted filesystem ... Some data was lost due to issues with original failing device. Customer restored from backup.

 

 

Issue/Introduction

One disk in diskgroup was flagged as failing. Needed to be replaced with new disk.
