Error Message

Cannot add space to the volume of a shared DiskGroup.

VxVM vxassist ERROR V-5-1-10128  Unexpected kernel error in configuration update
VxVM vxresize ERROR V-5-1-4703 Problem running vxassist command for volume test_vol, in diskgroup test_dg

Cause

The new LUNs weren't properly added to all the CVM nodes in the cluster and that caused the CVM membership to get lost after the disks were added into the shared DiskGroup on the CVM  master node

Resolution

1. Remove the disk/s from the shared diskgroup on the CVM  master to allow the other nodes to join the CVM membership.

2. Make the new disk/s accessible to all the CVM cluster nodes.

Applies To

Two node cluster running SFRAC5.0MP3 on Solaris 10 for Sparc
