Cause
SC3 and SPC2 were not enabled on the FAs as required for HPUX 11iv3.
Resolution
It was found that on the EMC SYMMETRIX array, SC3 and SPC2 were not enabled on the FAs. This is a requirement for HPUX 11i v3. It was confirmed that this is backward compatible for HPUX 11iv2, where the SRDF devices originated. Once SC3 and SPC2 were enabled on the FAs, then the import of the SRDF worked properly.
Issue/Introduction
Following the import of a SRDF diskgroup from a HP-UX 11iv2 system to a new HP-UX 11iv3 system, it was found that some of the disk were missing or in 'failing' state.
SF 4.1 - source host - system running vxdmp.
SF 5.0.1 - target host - system using HP native multipathing, not vxdmp.
San Storage.. DMX4.
After import seeing mix of ctd devices as well as Diskxxx devices and duplicate devices were present.
