Description

Error Message

The VRTSWebApp agent resource goes into Unknown state and logs the message in the Engine_A.log:

The Single Cluster Manager functionality is deprecated. Please remove this resource from the configuration.

Cause

This is due to the removal of the VRTSWeb utilization within SFW HA 5.1 SP2. With the release of this product, the VRTSWeb resource will no longer be used within VCS clusters.

Resolution

Users who require the VRTSWeb resource may wish to continue the utilization of SFW HA 5.1 or SFW HA 5.1 SP1 to maintain this feature.

As another suggestion, users currently on SP2 may submit an Enhancement Request through the Veritas Forums to return this feature to future versions of SFW HA.

As the intended replacement of VRTSWeb, users can install the SFW HA client components on workstations and use the Cluster Management Console (Java Console) to connect to any cluster in their environment remotely, hence removing the need for the web interface.

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to Storage Foundation HA 5.1 for Windows Service Pack 2 (SFW HA 5.1 SP2), users with a Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) cluster configured to use the VRTSWeb resource will find that this resource no longer comes online within the cluster.
