Replication reporting Inactive with Replicator Log Header Error

Cause

The Replicator Log Header error can occur if the disks used by the SRL volume had experienced connectivity issues while Replication was ongoing or are no longer accessible from the server from which replication is running. 

 

Resolution

1. Clear SRL log header error by disassociating  SRL from the primary server as seen below

 


2. Associate SRL back again on primary back again as seen below

 


3. Start Replication again and check the status of VVR.

NOTE: A full resynchronization is required after the above steps are performed. 

 

 

Issue/Introduction

Due to issues with disk(s) used by SRL log, Replicator log header error is received on the Primary SRL log when trying to replicate volumes using VVR (Veritas Volume Replicator) The RDS view from the VEA console will show information below when selecting the "Primary RVG" tab on the right-hand side pane.
