The errors below are seen in the cluster.log:

ERR  Volume Manager Disk Group : LDM_RESResourceControl: Unhandled Control code 16777301
ERR  Volume Manager Disk Group : LDM_RESResourceControl: Unhandled Control code 16777305
ERR  Volume Manager Disk Group : LDM_RESResourceControl: Unhandled Control code 16777341 

Cause

The Failover Cluster(FoC) resource DLLs are required to handle some control codes.  These control codes are optional and do not affect the functionality of the VMDg resource.

16777225 - CLUSCTL_RESOURCE_GET_FLAGS
16777233 - CLUSCTL_RESOURCE_GET_REQUIRED_DEPENDENCIES
16777301 - CLUSCTL_RESOURCE_GET_RO_COMMON_PROPERTIES
16777305 - CLUSCTL_RESOURCE_GET_COMMON_PROPERTIES
16777341 - CLUSCTL_RESOURCE_GET_RO_PRIVATE_PROPERTIES

Resolution

These messages can safely be ignored.

Issue/Introduction

For Veritas Infoscale Storage using Microsoft Failover Cluster, unhandled control codes for Veritas Volume Manager Diskgroup (VMDg) resources show up as errors in the Microsoft cluster.log.
