Description

Error Message

After restarting the Storage Agent, the providers are loaded.  Check the %vm_path%\log\vm_vxisis.log and search from the bottom up for the word "appended".  This will show the time the Storage Agent restarted.  Look for entries that indicate providers failed to load.

LoadProvider: load failed for provider cluster. error = 0xc1000004
LoadProvider: load failed for provider vxvm. error = 0xc1000004
LoadProvider: load failed for provider vssprov. error = 0xc1000004
LoadProvider: load failed for provider scheduler. error = 0xc1000004

Cause

When viewing status of providers via the VEA gui (right click on Storage Agent) the provider status is viewable.  For example, the following providers are among the listed, and will show Failed Status if the above log messages are noted for them:

Cluster
Scheduler
Vssprov
VxpolicyManager
Vxvm

Resolution

Confirm that the following Veritas entries are at the beginning of the path statement:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Veritas\VRTSobc\pal33\bin;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Veritas\Veritas Object Bus\bin;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Veritas\Veritas Volume Manager 5.1\
