Unable to see raw devices in Volume Manager after reboot

Cause

On reboot, while creating raw devices we generate next available device number. There is counting bug due to which VxVM were ending up creating one less device. Also it was creating permissions issue due to change in dmpnode permissions.

The issue is tracked via etrack incident mentioned in the Supplemental Materials section.

Resolution

This issue is addressed by source code change. Resolution is to keep correct counter and change device permissions appropriately.

Fix is available in the following patch releases.

Issue/Introduction

Raw devices are lost after OS rebooting and also cause permissions issue due to change in dmpnode permissions from 660 to 600.
