Windows could not start the Veritas Storage Agent Service on <ServerName>.
Event ID 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

Cause

There are several potential causes of this, but this particular issue is the result of a corrupt osuuid file. The steps provided below can be taken in hopes of resolution:

Resolution

1. Browse to folder %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\uuid.

2. Rename the .hash file to .hash.back

3. Browse to folder %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\Veritas

4. Rename the .osuuid file to .osuuid.bak

5. Open the Registry Editor (start > run > regedit) and browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Veritas\.osuuid

6. Right-click on the .osuuid key and select File > Export, and save a copy for backup purposes.

7. Delete the .osuuid key

8. Attempt to start the VEA service, then the Veritas Storage Agent service to see if they are now able to start.
