Description:
Failed to register DCOM. Error code is 2147500053
Cause
Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service components from SFW 5.x have not been completely removed. The error is benign.
Resolution
The older Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service component "vxob" can be removed from DCOM configuration. Locate the DCOM configuration as shown below using the Microsoft Management console for Component Services:
Console Root\Component Services\Computers\My Computer\DCOM config\Veritas OB
Using this application ID, delete the corresponding HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\{"AppID_of_vxob"}
After correcting this, you may encounter an issue where events from Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service are not reported correctly. Refer to 000015774 for additional information regarding the "The Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service logs Event ID: 90".

Issue/Introduction
After upgrading to Storage Foundation for Windows 6.0 (SFW) the Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) Service logs an error that it Failed to register DCOM in the Windows Application event viewer.
