The following error will be logged to the Windows Application event log:
Log Name: Application
Source: VCSComm
Event ID: 1
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
Computer: n01.mydomain.com
Description: VCSCOMM error: vxassist gabclient start: V-77-57616-2: Server Initialization failed.
In SFW-HA 6.0, there is a new GAB client used for disk group configuration updates between the nodes (Port c). The above VCSComm error may appear because the VCSComm service has started before the Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service (VxSvc) is started and tries to execute a VxSvc command to register the Port c client.
Note: This does not affect cluster startup or FastFailover if configured. Other GAB clients will register with GAB and the cluster High Availability Daemon (HAD) will start. When VxSvc starts it will register Port c with GAB.
This message is informational only, and the reporting of the error message can be ignored if the Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service (VxSvc) is started upon server reboot as shown in the Windows Application event.
The Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service(VxSvc) start is logged in the Windows Application event viewer as follows:
Log Name: Application
