01/19/12 11:20:20 : (PID:3652,TID:3784) WARNING: CVxVdsProvider::RefreshEventThread need_refresh = 0
Cause
The log entry does not affect the functionality of the application.
By default the VxVDS logs when it updates the database every 5 seconds, and this is logged as a warning so if review is required, then it can be determined if the database was refreshed or not.
Resolution
If the log file growth is undesirable, as a workaround the logging level can be lowered as follows:
- Load the registry editor.
- Locate the following REG_DWORD value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\VxSvc\CurrentVersion\Tracing\vds\Level
- Set the value to 0-Error
Note: The default level is: 1-Warning.
Applies To
New install, or upgrade to SFW-HA 6.0 or SFW 6.0
Issue/Introduction
After upgrading to SFW-HA 6.0 or SFW 6.0, or installing a new instance of SW-HA 6.0 or SFW 6.0, the following Warning level entry is logged in the vxvds.log every 5 seconds.
The log location is: C:\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas Volume Manager\Logs\vxvds.log
