LLT lltconfig ERROR V-14-2-15082 cannot bind /dev/dlpi/en to SAP 0xcafe
LLT lltconfig ERROR V-14-2-15664 LLT could not configure any link

Cause

IBM found an issue in the DLPI driver, causing a bind request to be refused.  Only a subset of 10Gb NIC cards are affected, (possibly restricted to just p795 machines) although IBM didn't clarify which might be affected. In testing within the Symantec lab, no such error was found.

Resolution

During investigation by IBM, the following APARs were created (the 2nd relates to the bind issue reported in this article) - please refer to IBM for specific fixes:

IV23244 - CRASH IN CANPUT VIA DLPIETHER
IV21952 - DLPI BIND FAILS ON CT3 ADAPTER

With regard to 10Gb cards, VCS is said to support these as long as the OS does.

VCS 5.1SP1
