After destroying LDOM virtual host using ldm command, it is still being displayed in Veritas Operations Manager (VOM)

The Managed Host agent xprtld does not run in the LDOM however after the LDOM is destroyed at the OS layer, an xprtld fault is displayed indicating that the LDOM cannot be reached.

 

Cause

Once the LDOM has been discovered, it is automatically added to the domain (as any agent-based Managed Host would be). 

Resolution

Use Settings / Host Management to manually remove the LDOM virtual host from the VOM  domain (as would be done with any host that needs to be removed from the domain).

Issue/Introduction

BACKGROUND   An LDOM virtual host has been created using the Operating System (OS) command ldm.  VOM 4.1 has discovered the LDOM and is working as expected.   During system usage, it is decided to destroy the LDOM using the OS command ldm.  The result is:
