Cause

This issue is tracked via Veritas etrack incident mentioned in the Supplemental Materials section.

In Solaris 11, "nslookup" has been deprecated by the Internet Systems Consortium and this should no longer be referenced, instead either host or dig should be used.

As nslookup has been deprecated, CPI installer should no longer allowed use any of the bind utilities (which has been mandated out by Information Security Department) these packages are no longer part of our standard build.

At the moment SF has to install the bind package (pkg:/network/dns/bind), then install SF and afterwards remove the bind package to comply with the security guidelines.

Resolution

CPI engineering has fixed the issue by removing the command "nslookup" from pre-installation command check-list.

The fix is available in the following CPI patch releases from SORT website:

CPI 6.0.1.300 (6.0.1 Hotfix 3) - https://sort.Veritas.com/patch/detail/7742

CPI 6.0.3.500 (6.0.3 Hotfix 5) - https://sort.Veritas.com/patch/detail/7743
