Cause
The messages are logged when a disk doesn't support the SCSI Inquiry page as specified by the ioctl system call.
These messages are harmless because disks are not expected to support all the SCSI Inquiry pages. It is normal for a disk to report failure to the ioctl when the specified SCSI Inquiry page is not supported by the disk.
Solution
A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned.
VxVM 6.0.3.200 on Solaris, AIX, RHEL and SLES 10 platforms.
VxVM 6.0.3.100 on SLES 11 platform
VxVM 6.0.3.300 on HP-UX 11.31 platform
