DMP logs would have messages as below
I/O error occurred on Path hdisk139 belonging to Dmpnode emc1_1f2d
Disabled Path hdisk139 belonging to Dmpnode emc1_1f2d due to path failure
Enabled Path hdisk139 belonging to Dmpnode emc1_1f2d
I/O error occurred on Path hdisk139 belonging to Dmpnode emc1_1f2d
Disabled Path hdisk139 belonging to Dmpnode emc1_1f2d due to path failure
Enabled Path hdisk139 belonging to Dmpnode emc1_1f2d
As part of the device discovery, Dynamic MultiPathing (DMP) marks the paths belonging to the EMC NR devices as disabled, so that they are not used for I/O. However, the DMP-restore logic, which issues inquiry on the disabled path brings the NR device paths back to the enabled state. This cycle is repetitive, and since the paths are disabled and enabled continuously, disabled and enabled path messages are seen continuously on the console and/or dmpevents.log.
The DMP code is modified to specially handle the EMC NR devices, so that they are not disabled/enabled repeatedly. This not only means that the messages are being suppressed, but the devices are also handled in more efficient manner.
The fix is available in the following patch releases.

Special Note:
Please make sure to install AIX 6.1 TL6 SP9 / AIX 7.1 TL2 for respective AIX platforms as it is a mandatory requirement for VRTSvxvm 6.0.300.104.
VRTSaslapm 6.0.100.202 is a mandatory requirement for VRTSvxvm 6.0.300.104 in AIX.
If the above OS requirement is not met, dmp path disabled / enabled messages would be still seen along with the messages similar to below in errpt:
VxVM vxdmp V-5-3-0 dmp_indirect_ioctl: Open failed on path 18/0xF4 with ret 5
VxVM vxdmp V-5-3-0 dmp_indirect_ioctl: Open failed on path 18/0xF4 with ret 5
