Description

Error Message

Could not load resource file C:\Program Files\Veritas\Veritas Volume Manager\ENU\extensEnu.dll

Cause

The extensENU.dll links the VEA icon into the Server Manager UI. During upgrade this DLL is replaced by a new version. The error above happens if his DLL is locked during upgrade and Windows Installer cannot delete it. In that case Windows Installer only marks it for deletion, so the new DLL is deleted after reboot.

One possible reason is that the Server Manager was left open during the process of upgrade.

Resolution

Copy a healthy copy of the extensEnu.dll (Version: 6.1.0.0) from another server to the problem server and re-open the Server Manager.

If a copy of the DLL is not available, please open a support case and our Support Team will provide you with a copy of the DLL.
