Using the install script
The install script can be invoked using "-start" or "-stop" to bring VCS, SFCFS or SFRAC online or offline (Figure 1). The product name and version will vary, depending on which product is actually present.
Note: If all nodes are currently stopped, it is usually best to specify all nodes (not just one) with "-start" to ensure proper seeding.

Manually starting and stopping individual components
(back to top)
Warning: Manually starting and stopping SFCFS or SFRAC is not a trivial procedure and should be performed by an experienced administrator. Table 1 is provided as a reference, primarily for troubleshooting. A checkmark is displayed to indicate which ports are used by each product. For
Note: On older installations, port q (quicklog) may be present. Refer to the documentation for these older versions (prior to 4.x) for information about stopping and starting quicklog.

| Port | Going Down (Stop) ↓ | Going Up (Start) ↑ | VCS | SFCFS | SFRAC | |
| -- | Use haconf to save and close the cluster configuration: haconf -dump -makeroNote: If the configuration is already closed, a "Cluster not writeable" message will be returned. |
Use hastatus or hasys to confirm that the cluster starts successfully: hastatus -sumhasys -state |

Due to the complexity of SFRAC, each platform and version contains a direct link to the procedure for stopping and starting the product.
