VxVM 3.1 introduced a new feature called FastResync (alsoknown as Fast Mirror Resynchronization or FMR that speeds up the resynchronization of stale mirrors.
Starting with VxVM 3.2 patch 3 and VxVM 3.5 patch 1 , the
vxdiskadm and vxreattach commands are changed so the placement disk will be fully resynchronized, regardless whether FastResync is turned on or not. Issue/Introduction
If FastResync is turned on, then VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM) will not fully resynchronize a replacement disk.
