Error Message

 "VCS ERROR V-16-10-97 Could not connect to the server using default credentials."
 

Cause

After installing the hotfix vcs-win_x64-Hotfix_6_1_00002_3487233  the Veritas Cluster Authentication service Startup Type is changed to manual. When the server is rebooted the Veritas Cluster Authentication service is not started automatically.

Resolution

Workaround:  

Open the windows services window and change the Veritas Cluster Authentication service Startup Type to automatic.

Ensure the service is started prior to attempting to login into the Veritas Cluster Server Java Console.

Note:

Engineering is working on correcting the problem with the hotfix and the permanent fix is tentatively scheduled to be included in the next Cumulative Patch for Storage Foundation for Windows HA  6.1.

Issue/Introduction

After installing hotfix vcs-win_x64-Hotfix_6_1_00002_3487233 (HeartBlead) patch on a Veritas Secure Cluster, when trying to log into Veritas Cluster Server Java Console, the login fails with the following error:  "VCS ERROR V-16-10-97 Could not connect to the server using default credentials".
