Resolution

dmp_native_support for the root pool with EFI label disks is not supported in the release of SF 6.1. If multi pathing of a ZFS root by DMP is required, please use SMI label instead of EFI. Veritas is working to support EFI label disks in the root pool in the release of SF 6.2.

Applies To

SF 6.1, Solaris 11.1

Issue/Introduction

Dynamic Multi-Pathing (DMP) in Storage Foundation (SF) 6.1 supports a ZFS root file system with the tunable dmp_native_support. This feature works only with SMI (VTOC) disk label. Meanwhile Solaris 11.1 supports EFI (GPT) disk label on the ZFS root pool disks. Enabling dmp_native_support for a ZFS root with EFI label disks fails.
