"V-39-53247-1 Error while connecting to local host" appears after starting the Veritas Enterprise Administrator console in Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows

V-39-53247-1

Error while connecting to localhost.

Could not connect to server. Server may be down.

Cause

-The issue may occur if

The VEA service is not started.

OR

The VEA service is not responding.

OR

Any GPO security setting or Antivirus is preventing the VEA client from establishing a connection with the VEA server.

Resolution

To begin with, ensure the Veritas Enterprise Administrator (vxsvc) is in Running state. If any attempts to start the service fail, then ensure below: 

1) All the ports required by Veritas Infoscale provided at Veritas InfoScale™ 8.0 Installation and Upgrade Guide - Windows at page 105 are open.
 
2) All antivirus exclusions provided at Setting up anti-virus and firewall software for InfoScale for Windows are configured
 
3) Verify if any GPO/security policy at Local or Domain level is preventing the vxsvc from starting.

For Veritas Infoscale for Windows, any attempts to login to Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) console fails or times out.
