VCS NOTICE V-16-20002-21  Oracle::online:Oracle startup returned the output
ORA-01081: cannot start already-running ORACLE - shut it down first

VCS ERROR V-16-2-13066 Agent is calling clean for resource(resource_name) because the resource is not up even after online completed.

 

Resolution

To resolve the issue, increase the OnlineRetryLimit for Oracle agent to 1 using below commands

# haconf -makerw
# hatype -modify Oracle OnlineRetryLimit 1
# haconf -dump -makero

 

Issue/Introduction

When attempting a failover for a Oracle Service Group, the VCS oracle agent fails to terminate certain oracle processes.
