KCF: write/open error block=0x367148 online=1
file=524 /oracle/srini_data43/r3e.data469
error=17500 txt: 'ODM ERROR V-41-4-2-42-11 Resource temporarily unavailable'
Cause
The ODM error is reported when ODM doesn't get enough memory.
Under certain conditions where the SGA_MAX_SIZE is set too high (using most of the system memory), Oracle uses most of the available memory leaving other processes with less memory than required.
Resolution
If the SGA_MAX_SIZE is set incorrectly, the above error is reported on AIX 5.3 systems with VxFS 5.0MP1, when ODM sends more than 28k request to FDD.
When the FDD buffer pool is set to 28k and increased requests are sent, the buffer pools become exhausted and above error is reported by ODM.
This issue is tracked via e1303305 and fixed in VxFS 5.0MP1RP3HF7 & 5.0MP1RP5HF1 onwards.
Contact Technical support to obtain the above Veritas private hot fixes.
Where possible upgrade to higher Veritas product versions.
