/usr/sbin/vxnetd is a daemon used by VERITAS Volume Replicator (VVR). It is started during run-level 2 via the /etc/init.d/vxnm-vxnetd script. This shell script first checks for a VVR license. Thus, if vxlicense does not report a valid VVR or VERITAS Storage Replicator for Volume Manager (SRVM) license, vxnetd will not start after a reboot.
-vxnetd runs as a kernel thread and should listen on the port specified (default: port 4145)
- to check which port is configured run vxprint -mg
-use netstat -an to verify if the port is listening
If vxnetd is not running, use the following command to start it:
#/etc/init.d/vxnm-vxnetd start
