Description
Error Message
%VCS_HOME%\log\FileShare_A.txt log file shows the following error:
VCS DBG_21 V-16-50-0 FileShare:< Resource_Name>:monitor:Failed to initialize permissions.[26:1]
Cause
Error indicates a problem with UserPermissions attribute configuration on the FileShare resource.
Resolution
If this issue is encountered, please confirm the following:
1. Verify the account configured for the UserPermissions attribute in the FileShare resource properties is a valid account and there are no syntax errors in the domain or user name specified (Figures 1 and 2 below show the location of this attribute).
2. Ensure that the account specified for the UserPermissions attribute is NOT enclosed in single quotes. The example provided in the attribute window description shows single quotes around the 'Domain/User' account, but this is incorrect.
Example: DomainUser added as: Enterprise\Administrator and not: 'Enterprise\Administrator'
Figure 1 shows a properly formatted account added to the UserPermissions attribute with NO single quotes surrounding the Domain User account.
Figure1
Figure 2 shows an incorrectly formatted account as the 'Domain/User' is contained inside single quotes. This will result in a resource that fails to probe/online and reports the permissions error to the FileShare_A.txt log file.
