Symptom
After the installation or upgrade to Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW) 5.x, a new resource appears in the Microsoft Cluster Administrator in its own group. There is a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) resource for each physical node in the cluster.

Cause
The installation of Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows includes the installation of the PBX resource. The PBX resource enables communication between system components such as the VEA and the Storage Agent. MSCS starts the PBX resource automatically and requires no manual intervention.

Resolution
PBX is not required to be highly available, feel free to delete these resources. Verify that the PBX service is set to automatic on all Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) nodes and delete the resources and the PBX group within MSCS.  Deleting the PBX service from the cluster has no impact on the cluster.
