Error Message

The license key is not compatible with the base license key.
The license key teir is not compatible with the base product license tier.

Follow these steps to add the license key to Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW):

Note: These steps assume that the license key is correct.

1. From "My Computer, open the "lic" folder.

By default, this is located in one of the following paths:

For 64-Bit Windows: C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Veritas Shared\vrtslic\lic
For 32-Bit Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Veritas Shared\vrtslic\lic

2. Remove any *.lic files from this folder.

3. From "Add/Remove Programs," click "Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows (Server Components)."

4. Click "Change."

5. Choose "License Management."

6. Add the base license key.

7. Add any additional options keys.

8. Complete the installation wizard.
