Cause

For a Solaris zone with externally mounted filesystems, if a user halts the zone outside of VCS then the zone goes into down state and the status of the Netlsnr resource is reported as STATE UNKNOWN  | UNABLE TO OFFLINE. However, the expected state of the resource is OFFLINE.

Resolution

The Netlsnr agent behavior in VCS is modified in 5.1SP1RP2HF2 to report the expected resource state, which is OFFLINE.

Please contact Veritas Support for Oracle Netlsnr Hot Fix 5.1SP1RP2HF2.

Applies To

Solaris 10 SPARC / SFHA 5.1SP1RP2

Issue/Introduction

If a Solaris zone is in down state, Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) reports the status of the  Netlsnr resource configured to run inside the zone as STATE UNKNOWN  | UNABLE TO OFFLINE.
