Cause

In SFHA 6.0 and RHEL5 Update 8 systems, when we carry out task of deport and import of diskgroup, we are seeing DMP paths are getting failed without any valid reason in shared DiskGroup environment. We see SCSI reservation conflict messages followed by DMP node failure in system logs and if we look throughly, we don't find any Hardware or SCSI level errors for these disk devices.

We are hitting known issue, and there is an etrack "2866527" already created for this issue.

Resolution

1. First we need to upgrade to RP1 from SF 6.0, we have included download and install document here for RP1 ->

sfha-rhel5_x86_64-6.0RP1

https://sort.Veritas.com/patch/detail/6115

2. Then also apply P2 for vxfen issues, if we are using VCS here -

vcs-rhel5_x86_64-VRTSvxfen-60RP1P2

https://sort.Veritas.com/patch/detail/6314

3. Then we need to upgrade to HF1, please ask Veritas TSE for this hot fix - >vm-rhel5_x86_64-6.0RP1HF1_linux_vm

Applies To

This problem only happens while using SFHA 6.0 and RHEL5 Update 8

Issue/Introduction

In the Shared DiskGroup environment, when we try to deport and import of shared DiskGroup, we find DMP paths are failing followed by DMP nodes failure under SFHA 6.0 and RHEL 5U8 systems, though we find disk devices are accessible under OS layer.
