Error V-383-1-852:Not able to manage Host with Veritas SF 6.0.1 / 6.0PR1 installed
Storage Foundation for Solaris 6.0.1 / 6.0 Platform release(PR) 1 is newly supporting Solaris 11 Operating System.
However, Veritas Enterprise Administrator(VEA) cannot connect to the 6.0.1 / 6.0PR1 environment because VRTSob (Veritas Enterprise Administrator Service) package is not install on it.
The VEA GUI functionality is being migrated to Veritas Operations Manager (VOM).
Therefore, Symantec has decided not to release VRTSob package and VEA package versioned for Solaris 11.
Veritas Quality Assurance Engineering has qualified the VRTSob package with the following steps to be performed on the Solaris 11 Managed Host (MH).
Supported SF releases for Sol 11:- SF 6.0PR1 and SF6.0.1
Steps to be performed:-
(1) Install VRTSob package of Solaris 10 (sparc & x86) from the SF 6.0. media kit using the pkgadd command.
Eg : pkgadd -d
(2) Execute the below mentioned commands in the same order:
- svccfg import /opt/VRTSob/bin/vxsvc.xml
- svcadm refresh system/vxsvc
- svcadm enable -s svc:/system/vxsvc:default
(3) Refresh the host within the VOM console.
After few minutes, Administer Link within VOM will become activated and the Storage Administrator will be able to do the operations.
Note: Whenever upgrades to SF 6.0.1 or greater versions are performed, the older VRTSob package should be removed and same steps can be performed for the corresponding 6.0.1 VRTSob package. This will enable the Administrator link for SF 6.0.1 also.
Applies To
