Description
Error Message
Backup terminating with below mentioned error,
"Error in backup of C:\program files\veritas\\cluster server\ during enumerate: Error [0x8007007b] The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."
Cause
During installation of SFWHA\VCSW stack, the VCS services are registered with an additional "\" in the path. This "\" has no functional impact on the VCS functionality. Though this "\\" has a side-effect on the System State backup application.
Resolution
As a workaround, follow the below mentioned steps,
- Click on Start ==> Run.
- Enter regedit and click OK.
- Highlight HLKM\System\CurrentControlSet\services folder.
- Select Find from the Edit menu bar.
- Search for "C:\Program Files\veritas\\" (without quotes "").
- Remove additional "\" in the path for all the registry keys.
- Reboot the server and then retry System State Backup.
A patch is available, please contact Veritas Technical support for more information.
