Error Message
* None of the VCS agents start due to the following error messages on the engine_A.log: "Agent not sending alive messages"
* The log from each agent produces the following error messages "could not open IPM connection to vcs on localhost"
Resolution
* Do not use port 14141 for other than VCS processes
* Set up the 127.0.0.1 loopback route in the network routing table
Issue/Introduction
Agents do not start on the VCS cluster node with errors as explained below. Either of the following two reasons contribute to this problem:
* Port 14141 (the port which VCS uses) is being used by other processes
* The loopback route 127.0.0.1 has not been setup correctly or does not exist
* Port 14141 (the port which VCS uses) is being used by other processes
