Error message: volboot file not loaded

This error maybe encountered when executing the command "vxdctl enable" , upon boot or in other scenarios.

The volboot file is missing from the directory /etc/vx

Execute vxinstall
The command "vxdctl init"  will generate a new volboot file but running vxinstall can be considered BEST PRACTICE as it is unknown if anything else may be missing/incorrect about the configuration of the Volume Manager engine.

In versions 4.x and 5.0 (currently supported versions), executing this command will ask if you are sure you want to reinstall; this will not reinstall Storage Foundation software and will only reconfigure the installation (this is a Volume Manager command and will not affect VCS (cluster) configuration files; diskgroup and volume information will not be affected).. You will be asked to review/enter license information, if you want to use enclosure based naming, and if you want to setup a default diskgroup (these operations can be reconfigured individually at any point in time). The purpose of executing vxinstall is to make sure that the configuration has been finalized (this can be run at any point without adverse affect).
