Description
Error Message
V-76-58645-352 Operation failed because the MBR disk exceeds 2TB size limit
Cause
The above error occurs when adding a disk greater than 2TB that is using the Master Boot Record (MBR) to an InfoScale Dynamic disk group.
This error occurs because the Microsoft Windows operating system is unable to address blocks beyond 2TB on an MBR disk. Additional information regarding the limitations of an MBR style disk can be obtained from Microsoft.
Resolution
To resolve the issue and add the disk to the SFW Dynamic disk group,
1. The disk must be converted to a GUID partition table (GPT)disk.
Note: Converting a disk from MBR to GPT changes the structure of the disk. If data is present on the disk, it will need to be copied to another volume or otherwise moved to an alternate location prior to the conversion.
2. To convert an existing MBR disk to GPT format from Veritas Enterprise Administrator, right click on the Disk -> Convert to GPT
