Description
Error Message
V-76-58645-10243 - Error from StorageAgent: Cluster disk group was not deported. One or more volumes are in use. Details: Could not lock all volumes. Cluster disk group was not deported
Cause
One of more volumes in the disk group are still in use
Resolution
As the cluster actually controls the Clustered Disk Group, this issue can come about when trying to deport the Cluster Disk Group without bringing the cluster applications offline. In some situations, if the cluster is offline or not functioning properly, it will be necessary to forcibly deport the Cluster Disk Group.
The command below will force the Cluster Disk Group to deport, though it must be stressed that this should only be used if the cluster applications have already been brought offline, in order to prevent data loss / corruption. It is good practice to also check that the volumes are not being accessed, which is the ultimate reason for the error message.
vxdg -g DiskGroupName -f deport
This will force the Cluster Disk Group into a deported state.
The Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) will typically not allow for the Cluster Disk Group to be deported if still under cluster control and the cluster is active.
Issue/Introduction
A clustered disk group cannot be deported if it contains volumes that are still in use.
