Description

Error Message

This is NOT an error

Cause

Normal behavior when Windows Operating System Pagefile has been defined on the volume

Resolution

When a Windows OS Pagefile(s) have been configured on a volume, Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) will display Healthy(Page File) on each volume as normal default behavior

Considerations:

1. Operating System Latency - according to Microsoft Article 305547, it is possible to see latency appear in the form of:

  • Computer stops responding (hangs)
  • Slow response times
  • Warning in the System Log
  • Bug Stop (Blue Screen)

It is recommended to place the Windows Pagefile on the server's local hard disk(s)

2. Mirroring Volumes - Mirroring the volumes where Pagefiles reside can increase the risk of OS Latency

Applies To

Windows Server 2003 or 2008

SFW, SFW-HA 4.x, 5.x
