Description
Error Message
The following may be seen in the
add_host.log from the VOM CS:
{"JOB":{"RETURNCODE":0,"ERROR":"Success","NAME":"add_host","OUTPUT":"ADD_HOST_VERIFYING","STATE":"SUCCESS","PROGRESS":85}}
Executing: "C:\Program Files\Veritas\VRTSsfmh\bin\xprtlc.exe" -l https://localhost:5634/agent/domain/unregister -d id={XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}.
After reaching the
ADD_HOST_VERIFYING state, the
add_host process shows that it is 85% complete, when the
unregister process is started on the host that is being added.
Cause
When updating to version 6.1 the database is changed. The VOM server now cannot request the data it needed from the host to add the host.
The file that needs to be deleted if it exists, is sfm_resolve.conf.lock. The the lock file exists it will block removing or updating the sfm_resolve.conf file.
Resolution
1. Confirm that the following file exists:
x:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\sfm_resovle.conf.lock
- If the sfm_resolve.conf.lock file exists, remove it and try to add the host again.
2. If the
file sfm_resolve.conf.lock is not found in the
x:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc folder, or if removing the file does not solve the issue, remove Veritas Operations Manager (the host component) from the host that fails to be added.
Note: If there are other Veritas products installed, back up the following two folders before uninstalling:
- x:\Program Files\Veritas\VRTSsfmh
- x:\Program Data\veritas\VRTSsfmh
3. Install the
Veritas_Operations_Manager_Managed_Host_Bundle_X.X.X.zip (X.X.X is the version number of the VOM CS server). VOM can be downloaded from here:
