VCS WARNING V-16-10051-9020 MountV::online:X:\ is not suitable for folder mount [8:3]


VCS WARNING V-16-10051-9048 MountV::online:Failed to create the reparse point 'X:\'. Error = 3.

Cause

The associated mount/drive is not online when the MountV (configured as mount points) resource tries to access and create the mount point.

Resolution

To resolve the issue:

  • Verify the dependency of each impacted MountV resource is correctly configured. Each MountV resource (configured as mount points) is dependent on the corresponding MountV resources (configured as mount /drive) such that it only initiates online after MountV resources (configured as mount /drive) are online successfully. 
  • Verify the Volume name attribute for the MountV resource in VCS matches with the Volume name attribute for the mount point in Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA)
  • Verify if the impacted mount point folder exists and is empty. 

Issue/Introduction

When a MountV resource is configured as a mount point in Veritas Cluster Server(VCS), it fails to go online, returning an error message.
