Problem logging into VIOM through the browser after upgrading to VIOM 7.3 on rhel6/rhel7

Error Message

"Server is unreachable. Please try again after some time"

and/or

"A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment"

Cause

This is due to an authentication issue .

Resolution

A private fix exists for this issue and is applicable to both rhel6 and rhel7.  Please contact Veritas Technical Support if you require this fix.

This fix is included in the VIOM 7.3.0.100 GA patch which is available on SORT under:

https://sort.veritas.com/patch/detail/12969

However in order to address the login issue, it will be necessary to deploy this patch on the CMS using the 'vomadm' command:

/opt/VRTSsfmh/bin/vomadm hotfix --install


 


 

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to VIOM 7.3 on rhel6/7, it is not possible to login to VIOM through the browser.

The following message is reported:

"Server is unreachable. Please try again after some time"

Additionally the Java RunTime Environment may report a fatal error which results in the java process coredumping.
