When working with Veritas Cluster, the cluster would occasionally report errors for LLT/Heartbeat

Error

Lost %d hb seq %d from %d link %d (%s)\n

Cause

At times, the heartbeat packets do not arrive in the proper sequence.

Either the network links are too busy that causes these packets to drop or the LLT node-to-node connection had a momentary loss that disrupted the sequence of the LLT heartbeats.

Solution

Make sure that the physical links are connected and that the network topology is correct.

If these messages are only logged occasionally, then these messages can be ignored.
