Issue

When attempting an online for a Service Group (SG) in VCS, it would report that the group is AutoDisabled.

Error Message

Error: V-16-1-10449: Group %s autodisabled on node %s until it is probed

Cause

When one or more resources of a group are not probed on a system, the group is marked as "autodisabled" on that node. This can happen if required attributes of a resource are not set or agent monitoring the resource is not up. An autodisabled group cannot be brought online through VCS control.

Solution

To troubleshoot the issue, firstly identify which resources are not getting probed. Once that is identified

a) Make sure all the required attributes of resources of the group are specified.

b) Make sure the agents monitoring group's resources are up and running.

c) Examine the agent log in the /var/VRTSvcs/log directory to identify the problem.
