Description

This document attempts to explain how to determine the EMC Symmetrix (DMX) "RDF" director and port details for a given enclosure.

Prior to creating a new EMC SRDF "RDF" group, a RDF group number (GrpNum) and corresponding RDF director port details is required for both the local and remote EMC enclosures.

The EMC SYMCLI command "symcfg -sid list -rdfg all" can be used to list the defined SRDF "RDF" groups for a given EMC Symmetrix (DMX) array.
The EMC SYMCLI command "symcfg -sid list -ra all" can be used to list the Symmetrix RDF director content.
