Description

Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) can be configured to send Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) V1 traps. To enable SNMP within VCS, follow these steps:
  1. From the Veritas Cluster Manager (clustermanager.exe) log in to the cluster and highlight the SNMP listing beneath the system list.
  2. From the Attributes tab, place a check in the Show All Attributes checkbox at the bottom of the interface. This may vary, depending on the version of Cluster Manager that is being run.
  3. Verify the status of the SNMP resource (the default for SNMP is disabled).
  4. To enable SNMP, open a command prompt on the clustered node and type the command hasnmp -modify Enabled 1.
  5. Open Cluster Manager and verify that SNMP is now listed as enabled in the SNMP Attributes View.
  6. Complete the SNMP configuration by adding the appropriate IP and port number that will be utilized by the management console.
