Resolution

The workaround to replace the Java JRE (32 bit) version depends on whether your deployment setup involves SFW/SFW HA/InfoScale Server components or Client-only components.
Workaround for a deployment setup that involves Server components
Perform the following steps to replace the Java JRE (32 bit) components:
  1. Take a backup of jre folder that is located at %vmpath%\..\Veritas Object Bus\jre.
  2. From the Java utilities that are available on the internet, download the latest x86 JRE (32 bit.)
  3. Extract the contents of x86 JRE (32 bit) in the %vmpath%\..\Veritas Object Bus\jre folder to replace the earlier components.
This installs the latest updates and replaces the older components. You are not required to reboot the systems.

Issue/Introduction

The Veritas Enterprise Administrator, a graphical user interface, that is available with Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW), Storage Foundation and High Availability Solutions for Windows (SFW HA), and InfoScale for Windows uses Java JRE (32 bit) components. To avail the updates, you may want to update these components to their latest version.
This article contains a workaround from Veritas to replace the Java JRE (32 bit) components with its latest version, without upgrading the product itself.
