Jan  9 09:37:52 gf01sxdb117t vxvm:vxconfigd: [ID 702911 daemon.alert] WARNING V-365-1-1 This host is not entitled to run Veritas Storage Foundation/Veritas Cluster Server.
Jan  9 09:37:52 gf01sxdb117t As set forth in the End User License Agreement (EULA) you must complete one of the two options set forth below. To comply with this condition of the EULA and stop logging of this message, you have 0 days to either:
Jan  9 09:37:52 gf01sxdb117t - make this host managed by a Management Server (see http://go.symantec.com/sfhakeyless for details and free download), or
Jan  9 09:37:52 gf01sxdb117t - add a valid license key matching the functionality in use on this host using the command 'vxlicinst' and validate using the command 'vxkeyless set NONE'.

Cause

As part of an upgrade exercise, the managed host had to be removed from VIOM due to having hit another issue. When the managed host was added back to the VIOM management server, it was observed that the nagware license messages hadn't stopped. A request was made to run the "vomgather" utility. Its log revealed that a critical managed host file (/etc/default/sfm_resolv.conf) was missing.

Resolution

The managed host was removed and re-added to the VIOM configuration, which reinstated the /etc/default/sfm_resolv.conf file, and this prevented further nagware license errors.
